About Seymour

The City of Seymour is located one hour south of Indianapolis, one hour north of Louisville and one and one-half hours west of Cincinnati. Seymour, Jackson County, Indiana is the place to live your future! Seymour has a population of approximately 20,000 residents and is served by Mayor Matthew Nicholson, Clerk-Treasurer Darrin Boas and seven Councilmembers.

The Downtown Seymour Streetscape Plan was adopted by City Council to be added to the City of Seymour Comprehensive plan.

Clerk/Treasurer's Office Closure Notification

Due to a Covid 19 diagnosis the afternoon of the 10th of December in the Clerk/Treasurer's office, we have had to close the office to the general public due to employees on quarantine. You may continue to drop your payments through the door slot here at City Hall. Telephone payments and return calls will not be taken/made again until week of 12/21/2020. Sorry for any inconvenience, and no late charges will be assigned during this timeframe.
