Safer Streets For Seymour

Seeking Public Comment on Draft Transportation Safety Action Plan

The City of Seymour is seeking public comments on the Safer Streets for Seymour: Transportation Safety Action Plan draft document. The draft plan provides a framework for addressing transportation safety needs and includes priority projects, systemic safety interventions, and policy recommendations to address known safety issues and reduce fatal and serious injury crashes. The plan's recommendations are grounded in a thorough analysis of recent crash data and incorporate feedback and ideas shared by the public through multiple engagement opportunities, including an initial open house meeting in April 2025, an online survey, and an online mapping tool.

The project team is nearing completion of the plan document and is interested in hearing more from community residents. You can use the links below to download the draft plan document and the information boards from the September 25th open house meeting. If you would like to share feedback with the project team, please send comments to Kevin Neill, the consultant team's Project Manager for Safer Streets for Seymour, at kneill@lochgroup.com

Please send comments by 5pm on Friday, October 10.

The City of Seymour is in the early stages of developing a Safety Action Plan to develop a long-range vision and actionable projects and strategies to reduce and ultimately eliminate fatal and serious injury crashes. This long-range planning document, funded in part through a US Department of Transportation Safe Streets and Roads for All grant, will fuse inspiration and ideas from Seymour residents and community stakeholders with technical analysis and best practices in transportation safety planning and design to chart a course for safer streets and roads in Seymour. The planning process commenced in late 2024, with Lochmueller Group contracted to support the City with technical analysis, public engagement, and plan development.
