Partying with John Mellencamp in 1982 with my girlfriend and his then wife at center ice the night before performing as John Cougar.
He played a flood relief "thank you" concert in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1982 at the Memorial Coliseum. The free concert, billed as "Fort Wayne Flood Fest '82," was a thank-you to the thousands of teenagers who helped with sandbagging efforts during the major flooding in March of that year.
